Renowned saxophonist & composer Dave Tofani spent over 30 years on New York’s studio scene as a top call session player on saxophone and woodwinds.

Grammy-nominated for his first solo album, Manhattan Carnival. Has frequently won MVP awards from National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and was the only woodwind player to be nominated in 5 categories for soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, flute and clarinet.

Played for nearly every major artist in the recording industry including Steely Dan, Quincy Jones, John Lennon, George Benson, Paul Simon, Dave Matthews Jazz Band, Lee Konitz, Natalie Cole, Frank Sinatra and more.

Performed on over 500 CD recordings and over 100 major motion picture soundtracks on saxophone, clarinet and flute including Untouchables, Sleepless in Seattle and Beauty and the Beast.

Has composed, arranged and recorded 20 original compositions. His 4 solo albums for the SoloWinds label have received enthusiastic popular and critical acclaim they include An American Garden, Nights at the Inn, Music of Dave Tofani and Mahattan Carnival.

An alumnus of the Juilliard School, Dave was mentored by Joe Allard on saxophone and clarinet and by Hall Overton in composition and jazz studies. Further studies in jazz improvisation with Lennie Tristano. As a master teacher, Dave has much to share with professionals and students alike.
